boxing day madness

So, every year. Its a tradition for me now. Even if im not lucky enough to get any presents on Christmas day, I go to Boxing DAY!

Its kind of sad that every year, it gets progressively worse. I mean, less people turn up, which is directly related to the even worse discounts and range of products that they are pushing every year. I mean, when they have the EXACT same product, at the EXACT same price as last year ($20 TrendNET Wireless-G router, amongst a few other misc. merch) you KNOW something is wrong. I cant fully complain, as I was lucky enough and got a great deal on a 2-Gigabyte Memorex U3 thumbdrive for $30 (regularly $75), which gladly thankfully about-friggin-time replaces my aged Lexar 512mb Secure Jumpdrive that had a run-in with a wash-cycle.

Aside from the pitiful discounts and lack of interesting product, its always fun to engage in that 20 second adrenaline rush , as you desperately fight for your life, with your back to a mob of vicious, rabid, discount -thirsty individuals. Combine this with sleep deprivation, Hypothermia and dehydration, it creates an intoxicating experience.

  • Nintendo Recall

I was browsing Tomshardware and ran across this article that talked about a Nintendo Wii Controller recall.

In response to the reports last week that straps on the Wii remote were inadvertently detaching from the controller, Nintendo today announced a voluntary recall for every Wii remote that has been shipped - more than 3.2 million.

The recall is not necessarily a sign that the straps were defective, but rather that they just were not strong enough to withstand extremely aggressive game play.

“People tended to get a bit excited, especially while playing Wii sports, and in some cases the control would come loose from their hands. The new strap will be almost twice as thick,” said a Nintendo spokesperson.

I found it so amusing the way it was worded. I can only imagine what horrors will become of this with more agressive sports games being made…….Think football or rugby…..but worse….

Though this was pretty funny and drew a lot of laughs. Me and some other people were in a truck and he donned a Pink Hat. People stared, it was funny.
